Avec Панихида, Батюшка renaît enfin de ses cendres et, bien que désormais seul (ou plus exactement entouré de deux chanteurs), Христофор accomplit un miracle. "old-school death", they said. while in many ways, that could be said about "echoes of the soul", this album musically has so much more to offer. it is melodic, has some BM elements, and the solos are breathtaking. i was surprised & delighted & this quickly became one of my favourite albums. the lyrics' socio-political messages & the spirituality & the depths of feeling & of being human are all things i can really,really connect to. there's a kind of empathy that is often elsewhere absent.

I’ve owned the Imperfect disc for a bit now, but had slept on the rest of the material, with the exception of Disquiet, until now. Much different than my normal dissonant, occult sound fare, but everything Unrequited creates is bursting at the seams with power and emotion. Respect and support.
